Il Frantoio is a luxurious Tuscan home located in the historical city of Lucca. Il Frantoio was built in the 16th century as the private olive press for the Controni family who inhabited The Controni estate during summer. Originally built as the olive pressing mill, Il Frantoio was fully functional till the year 1997 when it was converted into an articulately decorated Tuscan retreat. The luxurious Lucchese villa lies in close proximity to other interesting sites like the World Heritage site of Cinqueterre, quarries of Carrara, the sculpture town of Pietrasanta, Forte dei Marmi on the Versilian Riviera, the hills of Chianti and vibrant cities of Florence and Siena.
